After a mock exam: frequently asked questions
How to read your mock exam score, find solutions and plan your next steps.
What score do I need to pass the BBE exam?
There is no fixed passing score. WU admits roughly the top 7% of applicants each year, so the cutoff shifts depending on how the overall candidate pool performs. Your goal is to score in the top 7%, not to hit a specific percentage.
How do I know if my score is good?
Your results page shows how your score compares to other students who have taken the mock exam. You can see your percentile ranking and the minimum score reached by the top 7% of our users, which gives you a directional benchmark for where you need to be. Keep in mind this is based on BBE Insider users, not the full applicant pool at WU. Use it as a guide, not a guarantee.
Where can I find the solutions?
Solutions are available after you submit the exam. Open any task in review mode and click the blue help icon in the sidebar to see a step-by-step solution. This feature requires Pro Insights access.
Can I view the solutions/my results in the future as well?
Yes, the exam dashboard lists all your previous attempts with their scores and dates. You can open any past result at any time to review your answers and, if you have Pro Insights, view the solutions.
What if I think there is a mistake in a solution?
Use the report button in the sidebar, available both during the exam and when reviewing your answers afterwards. We review all reports and correct errors where needed.
How do I get the most out of my mock exam results?
Start with the topic breakdown to find your weakest areas. Focus your remaining study time on the subtopics where your accuracy is lowest. Then check the time-per-task chart to see where you are spending too long. If certain tasks consistently slow you down, practice those topic types until they feel routine. After reviewing, go back into the course material for the topics you struggled with before taking the next mock exam.
How do I learn the most from my mock exam, and which next steps should I take?
A mock is only as valuable as the review that follows it. The biggest gains come after you finish, not during. A structured routine: 1. **Score honestly, then set the number aside.** The result is a baseline that indicates what to work on. 2. **Review every question you got wrong, plus the ones you got right but were not sure about.** For each, name the cause: knowledge gap, careless error, misread question, or time pressure. 3. **Sort errors by type.** Many knowledge gaps means revisit the content. Many careless slips means work on checking and pacing. Misreads means slow down when reading. 4. **Re-attempt the missed items a few days later** (not immediately), since retrieving the right approach after a delay is what makes it stick. 5. **Track recurring patterns across mocks.** The same trap appearing twice is your highest-leverage fix. 6. **Then take the next mock,** so each one targets a weakness rather than re-testing the same blind spots. In short: diagnose, categorise, re-test after a gap, and let each mock direct your next study session.
How do I interpret my score, is it good or bad?
Look at your **percentile** rather than the raw score. It tells you how you did relative to everyone else, which is what admission actually depends on. The score-distribution chart shows where you sit on the curve. As a rule of thumb, aim for the top band that matches the programme's places-to-applicants ratio (for BBE, roughly the **top 7%**). A high percentile that holds steady across several mocks is the strongest sign you are on track.
